None of that. Senna simply made a mistake. Upset with the nonsense he leaves the car and goes strai

We continue today our saga the biggest nonsense ever seen in Formula 1. Just like yesterday, the protagonist is a leading name in the history of motorsport. Until they make unbelievable mistakes. Without further ado, let's move on:
5. Christijan Albers - França/2007 - gone before the time of his pit stop taking the fuel hose together 4. Jack Brabham - Mônaco/1970 - Lost to miss the victory freiada to last corner of the last lap
For a huge legion of fans, Ayrton Senna da Silva is simply the best driver of all time. They may even be exaggerating. But the talent, the charisma and the claw of the Brazilian are indeed undeniable.
Throughout his career in Formula 1, Senna won 41 victory and got no less than 65 poles, and three titles. Sensational numbers for those who competed in the category for a period of only ten years. Nevertheless, he did not escape error that was marked as one of the biggest embarrassments of history.
In 1988, Ron Dennis formed a true dream team at McLaren. Had the best car in the platoon - the MP4 / 4 - designed by Gordon yt Murray and Steve Nichols. The Honda engine was also considered the strongest and most reliable of Formula 1.
Finally, the dual holder team was formed by the two best riders in the world: Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. The French already had a double winner in the curriculum, while the Brazilian - though had not yet played a title to the end - already had quite a high prestige. yt
The victories in the 1988 season was almost a monopoly of Senna and Prost. They win 15 of 16 races of the year, largely dominating the majority of the races. The Brazilian was champion with all merits, but it was with a little butch because yt of a single mistake, stupid and unbelievable, that he committed the Monaco GP.
In the first two races of the year - Brazil and San Marino - the McLaren drivers had divided the victories. Prost triumphed in the studied area, the land of rival Senna, who returned with a crushing performance in Imola. The third race of the season was on the streets of Monte Carlo.
Before making an unbelievable nonsense on Sunday, Senna offered the fans of motor racing with one of the most impressive performances in the history of the classification of Saturday. As if no boundaries, the Brazilian was outperforming its brands, hitting successive record back.
Senna had no opponents except himself. At the end of the session, his time was incredible 1.4 seconds faster than Prost. The third place on the grid, Gerhard Berger, the Brazilian was 2.6s.
More than ever, Senna was the overwhelming favorite to win the race. Prost had won in Monaco three times, but the Brazilian looked tame the streets of the Principality like no other rider. It remains to wait for the French events. Maybe not happen any surprises?
The race started badly for Prost. At the start, he lost the second position to Berger, with a much slower than the Ferrari McLaren French. Not long after, Senna shot with ease. His leadership was absolutely quiet.
After Brazil, Prost came to put aside your car a few times but could not overcome Berger. The French spent over the metadata of the race stuck behind the Austrian to make overtaking on lap 54.
At this point, yt Senna had more than one minute advantage. yt For some time, the two McLaren drivers sped by swapping fastest laps. Without wanting to take risks, Ron Dennis, team leader, ordered the two take the foot to secure the domestic double.
Surely, Dennis had no idea the effect it would produce its order in Senna. Always used to walking on the edge, the Brazilian lost concentration. It was there that he made probably the biggest mistake of his career.
On lap 67, with only 11 for the checkered flag, Senna beats alone in Portier. Alone. There was absolutely no cars around. The McLaren team seems to believe. Will had broken something?
None of that. Senna simply made a mistake. Upset with the nonsense he leaves the car and goes straight to your hotel without yt anyone to answer to. Only the next day, McLaren would have confirmation that, indeed, there was nothing yt wrong with the car.
What happened? Until today, no one really knows. One of the most interesting explanation I've found is in the book Formula 1 - For the glory and the Motherland, Eduardo Correa. I take the liberty of transcribing just a snippet:
Senna was leading McLaren with all the tranquility to victory, leaving Prost and all the other riders far behind. It was so ... easy! A walk to the seaside. yt (...) Indeed, it seemed so easy for Senna - and so difficult for others - he felt trying to dream in the car:
I'll win every race, making all poles,
